Tennessee Polk Salad Festival – The TN Polk Salad festival is one of the most fun and kid-friendly craft fair events that you’ll ever see in Harriman TN! The Tennessee Polk Salad Festival Announces 2014 Summer Festival with an Arts, Crafts, and Regional Food Theme
Harriman – April 7, 2014 – This June, the Tennessee Polk Salad Festival will return to Roane County. David Webb and the Rocky Top General Market were proud sponsors of years of the Polk Salad Festival. The Festival is continued this year by the Arts Council of Roane County with an emphasis on the arts, crafts, and foods of our region. Art touches us all, and the Festival encourages feelings of creativity and self-worth for all as everyone is encouraged to express their creative talents through music, dance, drama, and visual arts.
The signature artistic event of this year’s Festival is the “Design a Quilt” area where attendees will be encouraged to design and color fabric blocks for donation to Project Linus of East Tennessee. This volunteer organization provides love, a sense of security, warmth, and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new homemade washable blankets and quilts and lovingly created by volunteer blanketeers. Also, interested area quilters are requested to create and submit a12.5” square unfinished block to the festival committee by June 1, 2014 or to bring one to the festival to meet representatives of Project Linus.
