Tennessee Dance festival

While you may have heard some buzz about the Tennessee Dance festival you will want to read some of the facts that make it one of the most loved events in the greatest city in the nation!  Read below for the top 8 reasons you don’t want to miss out on the fun and excitement at this great event!

The Festival includes dance classes with master teachers from across the nation in the genres of ballet, modern, jazz, tap, composition, African, hip hop and other social dance forms. Seminars on injury prevention, dance photography, careers in dance, and college dance programs give students insights into the field of dance.

A highlight of this year’s Festival will be the evening Gala performance at UTC’s Roland Hayes Concert Hall featuring the cream of the crop in dance performance from across the state. Also included on the Festival line up is the Cathie Kasch Student Choreography Project, the Members’ Concert and numerous networking and collaboration opportunities. In addition, TAD awards three competitive $500 summer study scholarships to allow talented students the opportunity to attend nationally renowned summer dance institutes. TAD’s annual awards (Outstanding Dance Educator, Margaret Martin Award, and Arts Advocate) are also announced during the weekend.
