Sugar Grove Corn Boil 2014 will start July 25

Corn Boil 2014 festival

Sugar Grove Corn Boil 2014
July 25, 26, and 27, 2014…where friends and family come together to have fun!

Top 10 reasons to check out the Corn Boil

A very important responsibility of the Corn Boil is giving back to the community. The three-day event provides local groups and vendors an opportunity to raise funds via the large audience. In addition, after our annual event is done and our books are balanced, we are able to share our profit with local not-for-profit organizations, e.g. Between Friends Food Pantry, West Town Human Services Network, Sugar Grove Park District, the Township Senior Center, Big Rock Park District, and many other important organizations. Over the years, many organizations have hosted the Sugar Grove Corn Boil beginning with neighbors, then the Community Club, the Village of Sugar Grove, the Sugar Grove Chamber of Commerce, and since 2004, the volunteer run Sugar Grove Corn Boil, NFP.

This year, the festival will honor the cornerstones to the civil rights movement in America. The opening ceremonies parade on 7-26, will pay tribute to the 150 year anniversary of the Proclamation of Emancipation, as well as the 50 year anniversary of the first civil rights bill. In the tributes, President Lincoln will be honored, as well as all of those who fought for their fundamental rights back in the early 60’s. (this is one of the best festivals in Illinois each summer!)

The Sugar Grove Corn Boil Carnival committee is pleased to announce that the Wilson Family Show will provide the carnival rides for our 2014 event.Take a peek at their rides on the Wilson Family Show Web Site

A variety of additional food is available at the food court.  Many of our vendors have returned year after year to offer their unique foods.  Favorites include SGUMC pie slices, Annabell’s pork chop on a stick, the Genoa footlong Italian sausage, and lemon shakeup’s.
