10 reasons to see the Mexican Independence Festival

The Festival Committee Mexicano-Wisconsin Inc. is a civil non-profit, legally constituted before the Wisconsin state government and the IRS, whose tax domicile and base of operations is the city of Madison, Wisconsin.

The people of Mexico and most of Centro America celebrate their independence around September 16th, a date which marks the beginning of the war of independence led, initially, by the priest Miguel Hidalgo I. Costilla, in the town of Dolores Guanajuato, Mexico and coincides with the declaration of independence from other Central American countries.

Its main objective is to make the Annual Mexico and Centro America Independence Festival in Madison, Wisconsin and support the community through scholarships for Latino students.

Los estudiantes aprenderán los fundamentos de diseño y producción de materiales multimedia incluyendo Impresión Formato Grande, Audio y Video entre otros. Los candidatos aprenderán a usar programas como Adobe Photoshop y otros
Todos los participantes tendrán la oportunidad de ganar una beca de $250, de acuerdo con las horas voluntarias y el su contribución de materiales y presentación de la exposición.
Todas las horas en la participación del proyecto contaran como horas comunitarias.

Haber estudiado en el año escolar 2013/14 con un GPA mínimo de 2.0

The people of Mexico and most of Centro America celebrate their independence around September 16th, a date which marks the beginning of the war of independence led, initially, by the priest Miguel Hidalgo I. Costilla, in the town of Dolores Guanajuato, Mexico and coincides with the declaration of independence from other Central American countries.

On September 16th, 1810 Miguel Hidalgo I. Costilla summoned the people of Mexico to fight for the liberation of the Mexicans, ruled by the Spanierds since the conquest of Mexico in 1521.

On September 17th, 2005 was held the First Annual celebration of Independence from Mexico in the Fireman’s Park, located in the city of Middleton, Wisconsin. It was attended by over 1,800 participants from different nationalities. This event exceeded the goal set by the organizers and culminated in the classification of the event by community leaders and local newspapers as a resounding success.

This year the Latino community will celebrate once again the anniversary of the Independence of Mexico on September 13, 2014 at Warner Park in the city of Madison. Enjoy with your family and friends this great experience.
