Lincoln Park Music festival in Newark July 25th

2014 Lincoln Park music festival – The 9th Annual Lincoln Park Music Festival will be held from July 25th – July 27th. Programs will be presented by Lincoln Park Coast Cultural District and its partners. The Festival will include a range of entertainers performing a wide range of musical forms including Jazz, Gospel, House and Hip Hop and sounds from the African Diaspora; Youth performance showcase, green vendors, arts and craft vendors; local restaurants, organic farmers markets produce, and a health and wellness pavilion. For youth the Festival will offer games, storytelling, golf clinics, skateboard clinics and a host of family oriented activities. The Festival is sponsored by our corporate and community partners. The weekend will close with the musical celebrations of Jazz, Youth performances, Gospel, House and Hip Hop.

Friday:
Jazz
Our Jazz program will pay tribute to the late Amiri Baraka. The program will feature “The NewArkestra” including: Director Alfred Patterson, Adegoke Steve Colson, Rene McLean, Gene Ghee, James Stewart, Carlos Francis, Anthony Nelson, Calvin Hill, Vince Ector and vocalist Pat Tandy

YOPAT presents 10th Annual Newark Idol – Hosted by hosted by YOPAT’s founder, Susu Stewart, Season 6 American Idol contestant Sanjaya Malakar and the 1st Newark Idol Winner Nicole Vanessa Ortiz.
Featuring City Wide Youth showcase of dancers, rappers, singers and spoken word and celebrity judges.
Gospel – Hosted by Toya Beasley
An evening featuring local, regional and national recording gospel artists including Stefanie Minatee and Jubilation Choir, Kevin Fulmore & Praise Works, Kenny Bobien, Shaun L. Mills, Vincent Walker,Tyrone Ellis and River of Living Waters.
Saturday: Hosted by “The Legendary “Ms. Theresa Randolph and “Slaag Records Recording Artist “Mr. Eddie Nicholas”
Our featured performers include Melba Moore, Byron Stingily,
CeCe Rogers, Chinah Blac and Tia Holt. Featuring DJ Teddy Douglas from Basement Boys, DJ Naeem Johnson, DJ Lou Gorbea, DJ Pookey, and DJ Barry B Special Guest Appearances. Live percussionists throughout the day featuring indigenous instruments from Brazil, West Africa, Peru and India.
Sunday: Hosted by Do It All & Redman
Featuring Redman, Lords of the Underground, Chris Skillz, JY, Soul Khan, Audible Doctor, Brown Bag AllStars, Senica Da Misfit, Rasheed Chappell, Final Outlaw, Jasiri X, Joyner Lucas, Mitch Littlez, Silent Knight & Rebel Diaz
