Old Fourth Ward Business Association Fire In The 4th Festival
Festival Genre: Culture fest
The Old Fourth Ward Business Association is excited to announce the launch of the inaugural Fire in the 4th, a festival taking place Saturday May 2, 2015, from 3 to 10p.m. To bring awareness to the Old Fourth Ward and to raise funds for street signage and public safety initiatives, Fire in the 4th is looking to be a standout on Atlanta’s busy event calendar. Paying homage to the historic Great Atlanta Fire of 1917 which devastated the Old Fourth Ward, the festival will celebrate its heritage through fire installations and performances, live music, art and more. A location for the festival will be announced in the coming months.
“With Fire in the 4th, we really wanted to introduce an event reflective of the dynamic rebirth of the Old Fourth Ward,” says O4WBA Event Chairman and Noni’s Restaurant owner Matt Ruppert. “In remembrance of the Great Atlanta Fire of 1917 this event will celebrate all that makes this one of Atlanta’s most resilient and exciting neighborhoods.”
In conjunction with the announcement of the festival, the Old Fourth Ward Business Association invites the local art community to participate in a logo contest beginning Friday June 6, 2014. Winning submissions will be featured throughout the festival and included as the official logo on all materials advertising the Fire in the 4th. The winner will also receive a $200 prize. Entries must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. on July 7, 2014 with a limit of one submission per person. The winner will be notified by August 8, 2014 and will be decided by a committee comprised of members of The Old Fourth Ward Business Association.
Fire in the 4th is fueled by the Old Fourth Ward Business Association, a non-profit membership based association dedicated to fostering a safe and sustainable business environment, engaging community involvement and promoting a positive image of the Old Fourth Ward.
