Dunwoody Art Festival

Dunwoody Art Festival

Organizers are thrilled to be moving the renowned Dunwoody Art Festival one block to the new Dunwoody Village Parkway, dubbed “Main Street” by City planners and staff. The Mother’s Day tradition will be held on May 9 and 10.

The Dunwoody Art Festival will wind around the beautifully enhanced and picturesque Parkway, showcasing the wildly whimsical Artist’s Market, which neighbors and visitors look forward to each spring. The Dunwoody Crier and the Rotary Club of Dunwoody are partners in this yearly celebration of the arts.
The popular Food Court will also have a new home, the shopping center that houses Dunwoody Village Burger and El Azteca. This will be the place to go for great eats for hungry shoppers who need a quick break before returning to find more unique art treasures. Local and regional musical acts will dazzle the crowds on the live entertainment stage (in the Food Court).

The Kidz Zone will show off its new digs, the Dunwoody Village Shopping Center across from Café and Pharr and behind Marlow’s Tavern. Lively rides, face painting, sand art and great surprises from Dunwoody’s own Purple Hippo will delight youngsters of all ages.
Dunwoody’s eclectic shopping district, which borders the Festival grounds and is filled with restaurants, boutiques and unique stores, will be open to Festivalgoers throughout the weekend.

Another great bonus of the Festival is the popular “Chairs for Charity” gallery and auction. Students from elementary, middle and high schools in the area are busy designing and decorating chairs and stools that will be auctioned off to the highest bidder to benefit the art programs in the schools. Last year’s Chairs for Charity auction raised more than $1,000.

The Event takes place on Dunwoody Village Parkway between Mt. Vernon Road and Jiffy Lube (This portion of Dunwoody Village Parkway will be closed to thru traffic from 3am Saturday, May 9 through 10pm Sunday, May 10). Free parking and shuttles will be available this spring at Calvary Church, located at 5067 Chamblee Dunwoody Road. For information on the festivities, visit www.DunwoodyArtFestival.com
