As well as Rheannon and Tyler Barham to get the party started. Please cheer as loud as you can to make them feel comfortable and at home in Missoula. And if you like country, Shane Clouse will be rocking out with Stomping Ground and will do a little ditty you won’t forget.

Montana seems to me to be what a small boy would think Texas is like from hearing Texans. I’m in love with Montana. For other states I have admiration, respect, recognition, even some affection. But with Montana it is love. And it’s difficult to analyze love when you’re in it. – John Steinbeck

Billings Festival of Trees

Billings Festival of Trees – The holiday event of the season! The Billings Festival of Trees is the major fund-raiser for The Family Tree Center. The Festival has become one of the finest community activities, garnering support from banks, hospitals, churches, non-profit organizations, local businesses, schools and scout troops.

Begun in 1985, the Festival of Trees has become synonymous with the holiday season in Billings. For many residents and visitors, the holidays would not be complete without at least one visit to view the trees or participate in the weekend activities.

Each year, the Festival of Trees provides an opportunity for community members to help prevent child abuse and neglect in Yellowstone County and the surrounding area. Donating or buying a tree, sponsoring the event, or participating in one of the many weekend activities during the Festival helps raise money and awareness; both help The Family Tree Center.

Over the course of this 4-day event, over 10,000 people pass through the doors to view the unique Holiday Trees and participate in the assortment of activities.

All dollars raised at the Festival go where they are needed most—toward the many child abuse prevention programs in place at The Family Tree Center. Referrals are increasing, and the number of families that we serve continues to grow. Now, more than ever, the Family Tree Center needs your support.

Please join us in our efforts to “stop the hurt before it happens.”

The Bitterroot Scottish Irish Festival is in its 4th year and is held Saturday, August 24th and Sunday, August 25th, on the beautiful grounds of the historic Daly Mansion in Hamilton, Montana. On Saturday, the festival runs from 9am to 9pm and Sunday from 9am to 5pm. There is live entertainment throughout the weekend, kids activities, Highland Games style heavy athletics, Pipe & Drum band competition, Highland Dance competition, Irish Dance demonstrations, Clans, and many vendors and authentic Scottish & Irish food. This is a family friendly event, but also has some special treats for adults in the form of an 11am Mead tasting and a 2pm Scotch tasting on each of the days. The Honored Clan this year is Clan Donald under which there are many septs, so come join your clansmen and ancestors for a giant family reunion. Even if you’re neither Scottish nor Irish, we’d love to have you join us. It’s a great time in a beautiful location.
